IDE 131 - Building Information Modeling

3 Credits

This course introduces the student to methods used to graphically communicate design choices. Architectural drawings will be developed from sketch to computer-generated images. Attention for most of the course will focus on the incorporation of building information modeling software into the design and communication process.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Produce quality graphics to communicate design concepts using building information modeling computer applications.
2. Produce orthographic drawings to depict three-dimensional forms.
3. Produce a series of interrelated architectural drawings including plans, elevations, sections, ceiling plans and lighting plans.
4. Develop the use of sketching as a tool to serve both ideation and communication.
